What We Do

We connect cooperatives of Indian weavers with homes looking for honest textiles. Our work covers sourcing hand-spun wool blankets, embroidered cushions, organic cotton rugs and light curtains, then documenting each piece with fiber composition, dimensions and washing care so you can compare options before ordering.

Why Ketlia works for your home

Practical value in every handwoven piece

Each textile in our catalog is chosen for how it performs in a real room, not just how it photographs. We work directly with weaving cooperatives in Rajasthan and Gujarat, so you get the maker's story, the fiber composition, and the care instructions before you decide. Here is what that means for your next purchase.

What we do with each textile order

Every piece in the Ketlia catalogue passes through a short preparation cycle before it reaches your home. We check the weave, confirm the fibre composition, and attach a care card with washing instructions and the workshop origin. That way you know exactly what you are buying and how to keep it in good condition.

Before listing, each manta, cushion cover, and runner is measured and weighed. We note the loom width, the yarn count, and any natural dye variation so the product card matches the actual piece.

Technical inspection

Wool blankets are aired and brushed, cotton rugs are checked for loose edges, and embroidered cushions are inspected stitch by stitch. Minor irregularities are documented rather than hidden.

Condition check

Each item ships with a printed care note: hand wash in cold water, dry flat, avoid direct sunlight. The note also names the cooperative and the district where the textile was woven.

Care and origin card

We keep a small archive of fabric swatches from recent batches. If you are planning a room refresh, request a sample set before committing to a full order.

Sample requests

For larger orders, we group pieces by colour family and weaving technique so you can compare options side by side without opening multiple tabs.

Comparison sheets

If a piece needs repair or re-hemming, we coordinate with the original workshop. Turnaround depends on the technique, but most fixes take two to three weeks.

Repair coordination

How do I know the exact dimensions of a woven piece?

Every product page lists the finished size in centimeters, measured flat after the piece leaves the loom. Handwoven textiles can vary by a few centimeters, so we note the tolerance range on each card. If you need a specific size for a sofa or bed, check the dimension line before ordering.

What does "hand-spun wool" mean for care?

Hand-spun wool is more delicate than machine-spun yarn. Wash it by hand in cold water with a mild wool detergent, then dry flat away from direct heat. We include a care card with every blanket and throw, and the product page repeats the same instructions so you can check before purchase.

Can I request a fabric sample before buying?

Yes. Use the sample request form on the product page or write to us at info@ketlia.com with the item name and color. We send a small swatch of the actual fiber so you can feel the texture and check the tone against your room. Samples ship within three working days.

Are the dyes safe for homes with children or pets?

Our cooperatives use plant-based dyes from madder root, indigo, and pomegranate rind. These are free of heavy metals and synthetic fixatives. The finished textiles are rinsed thoroughly and meet basic textile safety standards, so they are suitable for everyday use in family spaces.

Which weaving regions do your products come from?

The collection is split between Rajasthan and Gujarat. Rajasthan supplies the hand-spun wool blankets and thick throws, while Gujarat contributes the embroidered cushions and flat-weave cotton rugs. Each product page names the specific workshop and district so you know exactly where the piece was made.

How long does delivery take for a custom order?

Standard pieces leave our Trichy warehouse within two days. Custom orders, such as a specific color combination or a larger rug size, take three to four weeks because the weavers produce them after your request. We confirm the timeline by email before you commit.

Questions about the textiles themselves

If your question is not covered here, send it to us and we will answer within one working day. For order-specific queries, the support team can look up your item directly.
